Money’s Tight: Terms of Use
Version 1, 7 November 2026. A draft in use from the start of testing; to be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch.
These terms are between you and Curious Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 40 117 933 963), Australia (“we”), which runs Money’s Tight. By using the app or the website you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data, and forms part of these terms.
What Money’s Tight is
Money’s Tight reads your receipts, invoices and quotes, matches them with your bank statements, and suggests ways to spend less: whether a price was fair, cheaper options, quotes worth a second look, and reminders for work you’ve planned.
It’s general information, not financial advice
What Money’s Tight tells you is general information to help you make your own decisions. It isn’t financial, legal, tax or professional advice, and it doesn’t take account of your whole situation. Claude (the AI model that does the reading and checking) can make mistakes: it can misread a receipt, miss a price, or find an offer that has since changed. Check anything important before acting on it, especially:
- safety work on a car or a house (never put off work a qualified person says is urgent)
- switching an energy, phone or insurance plan
- anything involving a large amount of money
Your account
- You sign in with Apple or a passkey. Keep your devices secure: anyone who can unlock them can open your account.
- You must be 18 or over, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission.
- A household can be shared with people you invite. Each of them can see and change the household’s data.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time from the app (Settings, then Delete My Account).
Using it fairly
Don’t: - upload anything you don’t have the right to share, or other people’s personal information beyond what’s printed on your own receipts - try to get around the plan limits, reach other households’ data, or overload or attack the service - use automated tools to scrape the service or its shared price information
Reviews of businesses
When you review a business you’ve used, other Money’s Tight users can see your stars and comment (never your name). Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience, and not abusive, defamatory or misleading. Comments are checked before they’re shown, and we may hide or remove a review that breaks these rules or that other users report. You keep ownership of what you write, and give us permission to show it in Money’s Tight.
Plans and payments
- Free costs nothing. Plus and Max are monthly or yearly subscriptions, and quote checks can be bought one at a time. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions are bought and managed through the App Store, under Apple’s terms. They renew until you cancel, which you can do any time in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
- If we change a plan’s price or what it includes, we’ll tell you in advance, and the change applies from your next renewal.
The service
We work hard to keep Money’s Tight running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If we ever close the service, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and a way to download your data.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Where the law allows, our liability for a failure to provide the service is limited to providing it again or refunding what you paid for the period affected. We aren’t responsible for decisions you make based on what the app suggests, or for the goods and services of businesses mentioned in it.
Ending things
You can stop using Money’s Tight and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we’ll show the new version in the app, with the date, and tell you about anything important before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
